The expedition burns more fuel than anticipated and is forced to re-route. The hills along the coast begin to catch fire. Twenty-Five miles offshore the men get trapped by the Arctic ice with no way out.

Behind schedule the men push themselves to near exhaustion riding for over 350 miles in the dead of the Arctic night. The coast is riddled with caves and hidden coves. At twilight the men run upon an White Arctic Wolf.

With the coldest weather the team has run into yet they decide to overnight in a barren cove. Low on food the men resort to eating Caribou. Steven and the fuel boat leave the rest of the crew at the camp and risk a 120 mile round trip journey for supplies.

The crew depart Cambridge Bay in unsettle weather and are forced to take refuge on Jenny Lin Island. The wind changes direction and the fuel boat along with all of the Jetski come crashing onto the shore. Steven's watercraft is sinking.

An Arctic blizzard howls down on the crew. The men try to convince the local hunters and trappers to help them haul fuel North. Ice reports show an advancing ice cap. Freezing spray blanket the crew.

Freezing spray covers the men. In the black of the Arctic night Steven's watercraft sinks. The weather report looks grim. High winds almost capsize the fuel boat. The Whalers boat goes adrift.
